Life isn’t all about Ha Ha He He!

Being a teenager, life is so complicated right? We have to balance so many things. Friendship comes first, hanging around with cool people, last minute studies, screwing up things by getting involved into many, taking various life-changing decisions which would make or break our future totally, most importantly abiding by the rules laid down by our family.. Difficult right? We need to enjoy our life to the fullest at this point of our life for these days won’t come back again. We need to prove ourselves cool in front of all those people who tagged us boring. We need to hang out with the ‘DUDES’ just to ensure that people accept us. We need to upload our status on all social networking sites to keep the world aware that we are enjoying our life. ”Enjoying at Goa” ,“Hanging out with friends” ,”Trekking with friends” ,”Watching a movie with friends” ,”At Social”, “At Café Coffee Day” and blah blah . And yes, not to forget the so called “Selfie Fever”, wherever you go, you need to click that ‘Mandatory Selfie’ and post it with a cool caption and gain likes and comments.

Are we really contended by living such a life? Are we happy from within? Are we living the way we want to? Are we losing our own selves in the name of socialising? Will all of this matter to us in the coming years? Can the number of likes on our pictures or posts decide the quality of our life? Can the number of facebook friends or the followers on instagram decide our future life? As far as our future is concerned, will all of this have a positive impact on our lives?  Well, all of this is temporary. It gives us momentary happiness and pleasure but are we going to ruin our lives by focusing on such temporary happiness? We are not only spoiling the beauty of English language by following the new messaging trends but also spoiling our lives by following the current societal requirements. Social acceptance is considered much more important than self acceptance these days. We need to take up steps that would leave a positive impact on our future. Focussing on temporary happiness can sometimes result into long term regret. All actions that we take up now need to be taken keeping in mind our future. We need to establish our identity in this world.  For this, we need to start living a life which we want to,rather than following what others are doing.

These years of our life are the most crucial stages, for we are stepping into our future now. We are sowing the seeds for our future and this needs to be done very carefully considering all the essential factors. Future is yet uncertain but it depends on our present actions. If we are going to spoil our ‘Teen Years’ then the coming years would be really difficult. The main aim is to strike a balance between enjoying our life at present and laying the foundation of our future as well. We need to learn to distinguish between what we want and not compare our lives with others. It is not necessary to follow everything what our friends do, just to be with them. Sometimes you need to think for yourselves. Before taking any action just check as to what the impact of these actions be on our future. We need to learn to say a ‘NO’ to others when something is against our morals and ethics. This would obviously enrage others, but you need to learn to speak up for yourselves. We need to move away from things that don’t matter to us. We need to think for ourselves. We need to pay heed to what our parents feel right for us, for they know about us and they are our well-wishers. We get irritated when they advise us and we listen to what our friends say. Is this right? Just because they think for our well-being, they always ensure that we follow the right path and are the first ones to shout at us if we follow the wrong path. But we get irritated and angry when they try to correct us and start back answering and begin to shout on them as if we were never wrong.

At this phase of life, we always do what your mood says. Mood-swings are high.We are vulnerable to what others say. We are more concerned about what our “Status on Social Media” has to say about us rather than listening to what our heart says. But we need to learn to control our mind. Going in the wrong path won’t affect anyone else other than us. Everything would look flowery at first later the effects of such negative acts would badly affect us. Mind is the most powerful weapon we are blessed with, which has the ability to control us even before we control it. But we shouldn’t let our mind control us. We are subjected to unnecessary fears , tensions which lead to depression which would eventually make our life darker. We should never let in negative thoughts. We should see the positive impacts of all the actions and when we know something isn’t right or something isn’t meant for us, we should never let our mind control us and get into such bad habits or so. Why knowingly step into a well which we know is deep and the chances of our survival is less? We need to be careful and think twice before doing things. We need to control our emotions and stop taking hasty decisions.

We are the ones who complicate things and thus call life ‘Complicated’. Things are easy actually. We just need to listen to ourselves and what your parents feel is good for us. We need to have fun but within certain set boundaries which wouldn’t spoil our future. We need to secure our future by taking necessary actions. We need to pay close attention to our Sub-conscious mind which can never go wrong. This is a stage where we need to create fond memories which we would cherish for a lifetime. We need to follow a positive path. Negative emotions are always on rise at such phase of life. We should have self-confidence on ourselves and our abilities. We should develop the courage to face new challenges irrespective of failures. We need to live a life for ourselves and create a future where we don’t need any break and are always energetic to look forward to a new day. Always hold our head high, be humble and set an example for generations to come. Life isn’t easy but it isn’t complicated either. It depends on the way we live it and the attitude we carry matters the most. We need to realise that success doesn’t mean to develop ‘EGO’ and failure doesn’t mean to lose hope. It is all a part of the game and has to be faced with the same determination. Remember, there is no stone that can obstruct your path except you; there is no one who would save you when you fall. But once you learn to wake up from all the obstacles there is no one to stop you as well. Live a life you want, enjoy the life you live, nothing can ever bring your spirits down until you are determined to reach where you want to.
