PASSION

'PASSION'- What a beautiful word right? Most of us are already thinking about our passion while some of us are still trying to discover what it is and it is absolutely fine.

They have been defining this word as “Something you do to pass your time effectively, something that you love doing.” It could be art, music, cooking, writing, gardening, the list doesn’t end here.

The word sounds too fascinating and exciting. But, has anyone ever said how hard it is to follow your passion at times?

Signing up for taking your passion seriously, is like being on a roller-coaster ride. You know there are going to be areas you shall enjoy, there are going to be times you want to just get out of it and sometimes what you thought was the reality is something not even close to the reality, but you can’t give up because- YOU HAVE SIGNED FOR IT and THERE IS NO GOING BACK.

It is a journey, that is different for all of us but one thing that is common is the excitement, the belief and the love we have towards our passion.

And when you dive deep into this ocean, which in your mind was always clean, beautiful and filled with a variety of beautiful species, you begin to see it in its true state. Rough, not so clean and filled with some dangerous species too, but you need to survive. You need to learn how to dodge, how to boldly face the reality, how to keep going and believe that it gets worse before it gets better. You can’t give up so easy because what you wanted to see is just one step away, all you got to do is keep diving deeper, holding on to faith and keeping in mind what brought you till here.

At the end, when you are out of the ocean, you will hear your heart beating faster than ever, you wouldn’t remember the dirt, the pain, the smell, but the sense of achievement, the beautiful view, the experience is what is going to be fixed in your mind forever.

And that is how following passion is.

It takes hell lot of courage, determination, dedication, love, sacrifice, compromise when it comes to doing what you love doing. It isn’t as simple as it sounds. It gets difficult, messy, it doesn’t let you sleep and haunts you all day. There are phases where you just want to give up, where nothing seems to be working out. You never feel good enough and feel stuck. But when you look back at the journey, the reason why you started working towards your passion is stronger than any other feeling.

People around you always tend to look at the surface and appreciate or criticise you for being good enough or not being good enough, but only you know your journey, only you know about the days you have stayed up all night trying to hit the right note, find the right ingredient or write a good poem. Only you know what it takes to do something different, something unconventional and work hard towards it.
Next time you see someone trying hard to make their passion work, be kind and appreciate their journey. Don’t judge. You don’t know what is below the ice-berg, the tip always looks easier, but below that is something you aren’t aware of.

To all the people out there, trying to make it big by following your passion-

Believe. Believe that you are going to be there where you wanted, all you need is some self-confidence and belief that YOU CAN DO THIS.

Trust the journey. You are on the right track, maybe just slow or maybe just right. It’s okay to be impatient but don’t let it take over. Look back at how far you have come and trust the journey ahead too.

You are different from the rest. You are so courageous to be taking your passion seriously. You are already a winner. Your journey is an inspiration for others. Keep going. Don’t stop. Don’t let the testing times stop you. It’s okay to feel insecure about your art, it is okay if you are struggling to find the right start, it’s okay if you are slow, don’t compare your journey with the rest. You, yes you are going to make it big. Just hold on for a while. Keep working hard, be consistent, leave no stone unturned. Remember, you need to stay in the dark for a while to see the sunrise and to appreciate the light.
