And we grew up!

Walking past the memory lane, there was a time when we were struggled with numbers-1,2,3… and alphabets- A,B,C… ,even after so many years we are still struggling with numbers and alphabets but the only change is that now numbers deal with percentages and alphabets deal with grades. We are defined by such numbers and alphabets now. When we were taught these alphabets, we weren’t forced to learn it in a particular way. We all had our own style of learning; some sang it as a song while some recited it as a poem. At that point of time, we never realized that the rest of our lives would revolve around them and we would be judged on the basis of it. Our journey began with the learning of poems and reciting in front of the whole class. Some of us were too good in this, while some of us could learn the poem but found it difficult to recite it in front of everyone while some couldn’t even learn the poem. But ultimately we all had to learn it and recite it, no matter what. We were all trea...

Is this how it is supposed to be?

We are living in an era where appreciation is scarce and criticism is vast. Every action you do is judged by others and then we are evaluated accordingly. Imagine you have been assigned a job to do within a particular span of time and you complete it on time and submit it. In this case, you have completed your work assigned duly but you would hardly be praised for your work. But on the other hand, if you fail to submit the work on time, you are ought to be criticized,  judged and pointed at. We are so much into this process of criticizing others that we fail to realize how it feels to be criticized every now and then.  Taking into consideration the current happenings in our country, we can conclude that our nation will be radically transformed in the coming years. Since the past our newspapers were filled with news about “CORRUPTION”, “BLACK MONEY”, “FAKE CURRENCY” and so on. In order to free our country from the evil clutches of ‘Corruption’ our Hon. Prime Minister Sh...

Life isn’t all about Ha Ha He He!

Being a teenager, life is so complicated right? We have to balance so many things. Friendship comes first, hanging around with cool people, last minute studies, screwing up things by getting involved into many, taking various life-changing decisions which would make or break our future totally, most importantly abiding by the rules laid down by our family.. Difficult right? We need to enjoy our life to the fullest at this point of our life for these days won’t come back again. We need to prove ourselves cool in front of all those people who tagged us boring. We need to hang out with the ‘DUDES’ just to ensure that people accept us. We need to upload our status on all social networking sites to keep the world aware that we are enjoying our life. ”Enjoying at Goa” ,“Hanging out with friends” ,”Trekking with friends” ,”Watching a movie with friends” ,”At Social”, “At Café Coffee Day” and blah blah . And yes, not to forget the so called “Selfie Fever”, wherever you go, you need to click ...

Breaking Stereotypes!

“You are a girl, you aren’t supposed to walk this way.” “You shouldn’t talk so loud remember you are a girl.”  “Beta, don’t wear such clothes, you are a girl so dress decently.” “This is not meant for girls.” “Don’t take up this as your career, girls don’t go for it.” “You are already 22 , its high time to get married now.” Typical comments by the society which kills hundreds of dreams. Indian society celebrates the birth of a ‘Boy’ child whereas considers a ‘Girl’ child as a burden. The first few areas of concern when a girl child is born are-“Expenses would be more, we need to save money for her marriage, she wouldn’t look after her parents after marriage as she will have to run her own family and so on.”  The society begins to get judgmental the moment a girl child is born. Right since the early ages, some rules and norms are set based on the gender, in which the kid is expected to behave. More than considering what the kid likes to do, we persuade...
